Ceasa-Campinas, city hall secretaries and bodies work together in the Communitarian Vegetable Gardens Municipal Program. The Company is responsible for the production green house of seedlings for Sewers Treatment Station (ETE) of Jardim São Marcos neighborhood and it provides a technical support, courses and material to implement several vegetable gardens in neighborhoods, communities, social institutions and state schools.
The work helps to generate revenue, contributes to a healthy feeding and also works as a therapeutic support for HIV infected individuals, addicted individuals and people with special needs. It is also a pedagogical tool in schools. 640,000 vegetable seedlings have been distributed by the project and 8,000 people have benefited from the vegetable gardens, courses and Ceasa technical assistance. |
